Siege Guide

Sieges make Lineage stand out. They last 2 hours during daylight and demand higher-level, organized players. Here’s a concise rundown of participation, win/lose conditions, tactics, and castle notes.

How to participate

Declare against the defending pledge via /war [pledge name] (not while morphed or if clanmates are inside siege flags), or help a seizing/defending pledge without declaring (but you won’t see enemy logos unless you’re in a seizing/defending pledge).

Attacking: if you’re in seizing/defending pledges, just attack players with logos; otherwise hold Ctrl to attack anyone.

How to win

  • Break the guardian tower inside the castle/fort and crown it first.
  • Kill the defending prince; the pledge that kills him takes control.

How to lose

  • Prince dies (must leave and redeclare).
  • Another prince crowns after tower break; others are teleported out.
  • Time expires (2-hour limit).

Tactics and Tips

  • Stick together; focus fire.
  • Dice Daggers speed tower damage and pressure.
  • Paralyze + Freeze to stop teleports.
  • Weapon Break to weaken attackers.
  • Distance attacks (elves/mages) to pressure tower/lanes.
  • Timing: attack later to defend less; adjust by castle strength.
  • Only seizing pledges can damage the tower.
  • Know allies/enemies; get helpers into your pledge to see icons.

Benefits of owning a castle

  • Tax money from the territory.
  • Adjust tax rate (min 10%).
  • Special perks (Heine Eva potions, Windawood cave, Orc passive if Orc Fortress).
  • Set next siege time (daytime window).
  • Order guards; teleport home goes to castle; storage dwarf (not Orc Fortress).

Downsides

  • No house regen; castle is a combat zone.
  • Maintenance costs (guards, gates).
  • Defense needs manpower (often paid helpers).
  • Some castles lose money (e.g., Orc Fortress).

Castles

Orc Fortress: Northwest of Orc Town; typically a learning castle, minimal income (slime races). One gate; break tower to crown. Orc guards can be ordered.

Kent Castle: North of Kent; taxes Kent/Gludio. One gate; break gate then tower.

Windawood Castle: South Aden; taxes Woodbec/SK/Oasis. One outer gate then tower. Contains sole entrance to Windawood Caves (Beleth). Keep gate repaired if you want to block cave access.

Heine Castle: Southwest of Heine over water; taxes Heine + house rents. Two gates (north/south); back gate lowered by ranged hits. Break tower to win. Perk: quick Eva potion access.

Giran Castle: Most lucrative; taxes Giran, arena rentals, races. Two outer + two inner gates; tower surrounded by flowers (ranged can shoot over). Break tower and crown.

Iron Gate Guild: Base of Fire Valley; taxes Werldern. Two gates then tower. Houses Tsurugi crafting; people may break gate to craft.
